aromatherapy and reikiMY AROMATHERAPY SECRETS

I often complement in-person Reiki sessions with a custom aroma therapy blend in my essential oil burner. I tailored the aroma blend to each treatment. Among my trade secrets are that I do have a few pre-mixed 'elixers'. As these blends are suitable for home healing also, I thought to share them with with you. Two of my most popular healing essential oil blends in my Reiki practice are: a ' Mood lifting' aromatherapy essential oil blend, and a 'Grounding & Balancing' aromatherapy essential oils blend.

MOOD LIFTING. You can create this blend by adding a few drops of Rose, Clary Sage and Yllang Ylang. This blend encourages the release of dopamine, a hormone that increases feelings of joy and happiness. It has anti-depresssant qualitites to ease nervous tension, stress, depression and grief. Its sedative qualities calms the nervous system and relaxes body and mind.

GROUNDING AND BALANCING. The other popular blend consists of the essential oils of Orange, Patchouli, Indian Neroli, Champa & Rosewood.

Instructions to make essential oils:. You can add a few essential oil drops to the water in your oil burner, to your massage oil, your car aromatherapy diffuser, or your bath water. You can choose both of them as a personal fragrance. You can pre-mix these essential oils by using a carrier oil, or you can blend them for each use. Do what suits you best. -

BTW --- History of aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is a fast growing therapy in holistic medicine, although it's actually an ancient practice. In China, Egypt and India the use of flowers, plants and their essences for healing started tens of thousands of years ago. Today's aromatherapy practices are most akin to those of the Egyptians -- and use infusion to extract the oils from aromatic plants.
